Mosport Karting Centre's entry-level program introduces kids to karting in a safe, structured environment — building confidence and fundamental driving skills under qualified instructors.

About the Program

This entry-level program is tailored for rookies and beginners through practice sessions led by qualified instructors.

As drivers progress, they may be approved for Group A and gain access to the Introduction to Racing component — teaching rules, regulations, formats, and procedures.

Age Eligibility4 years old until the end of the calendar year in which they turn 8.

Program Tiers

Each scheduled day is either Group A & B or Group A only. Check the schedule for details.

Group B

Introduction to Kid Karts

For first-time participants with no prior experience. Focus on basic skills.

Does not include racing introduction.

Requirements

Membership & Registration

  • Valid 2026 MIKA Club Membership required.
  • Register for each event in advance.
  • Parents and crew must hold Associate Membership to access the grid.

Program Guidelines

  • Parent or guardian must be present at all sessions.
  • First-time drivers require an instructor on track.
  • All forms must be submitted before participation.
  • Track time on the schedule is dedicated to Kid Karts only.
  • Group A drivers in Intro to Racing receive a participation award — no trophies, no timing.

Technical & Safety Requirements

Kart Specifications

  • Only approved Bambino karts — 770–850 mm wheelbase.
  • Recommended weight: 164 lbs / 74 kg.
  • Engine options: Honda GHX50 (recommended), Honda GX35, Comer C50.

Safety Gear

  • Helmet: Snell-FIA CM/CMH or SFI 24.1.
  • Abrasion-resistant suit.
  • Gloves and proper shoes.
  • Body protection (optional but recommended).
